Studio Workshop, conducted by Code.Org, is a training on computer science and pedagogy. The training provides a variety of activities and courses to incorporate into daily lessons to help inform students about computer science and its importance in our world today.
2017-2018
Tribes Basic training examines the importance of learning communities in the classroom. Teachers learn and realize how to provide every student with the knowledge, skills, and resiliency to be successful in a rapidly changing world.
AVMR training provides teachers with a detailed understanding of how early numeracy is developed, along with efficient, diagnostic and dynamic assessments to help identify areas for growth. AVMR provides a variety of tools and activities to differentiate instruction and target all learners.
Foundations of Literacy provides teachers with the HSSD literacy vision and mission supported by foundational information and practical applications for K-2 literacy instruction. The course provides an introduction to the planning and instructional formats articulated in the literacy plan (i.e.: Universal Design for Learning, Gradual Release of Responsibility, Balanced Literacy Framework, Writer's Workshop) for improving student achievement in an English Language Arts literacy block.

2018-2019
This workshop focused on what the “next generation” thinking for read aloud, shared reading, guided reading, and independent reading. Teachers learned simple adjustments to instruction that can lead to powerful shifts in student engagement and empower students to become better readers.
